I don’t recognize you from the photo, but the system does.

…or what not to try in the Testing Centre.

The Testing Centre is a place where fairness and equity are key. Every student is on a level playing field – testing on his or her own, under supervision and using technology to keep the process fair.

However, we recently came across a case that tried to get around the rules in a really creative way.

The student changed his profile photo in the UIS system – but not for a more recent picture of himself, as one might expect, but for a photo of another person. Apparently he hoped that no one would notice, or that he would “get away with” the resemblance.

But…
Our checking mechanisms use automatic identity verification – not only by comparing the photo in the UIS, but also the images from the kiosk, the CCTV system and the subsequent login to the test.
The system quickly detected the discrepancy, the supervisor was notified and the entire incident was documented.

📂 The result is a referral to the Disciplinary Commission.

Why not underestimate it?

  • 🧠 Thinking that “it will pass” doesn’t pay off – the system will know.
  • 🎓 The possible expulsion from the study because of one attempt to circumvent the rules is not fiction, but reality.
  • 🤝 A fair approach to exams is not just an expectation – it’s a condition of participation in the Testing Centre.

How to prevent it?

Have an up-to-date, high-quality photo in UIS that is relevant to your current image.

❌ Don’t try any “friendlies”, photo swaps, or other creative tricks.

👀 Count on the fact that the system monitors more sources than just one photo in the system.
