FEM Testing Center: emergency, extended hours, and current operating information

In response to the extraordinary traffic situation and significant capacity utilization at the FEM Testing Center (TC), we are publishing a summary of current operational information and measures taken.

Extension of operating hours

On January 8–9 and January 15–16, 2026, the Testing Center’s operating hours were extended until 10 p.m.
This measure added a total of 480 testing slots, with the aim of partially alleviating the high pressure on capacity during the exam period.

Current capacity status

The capacity of the Testing Center is practically fully booked until January 20, 2026. Please note that the TC is open every day, including weekends, throughout the entire exam period.

Waiting list for substitutes

During times of emergency, but also outside of them, students can use the waiting list for substitutes.
The system works in such a way that if a student does not show up for their reserved exam, the vacant slot is automatically offered to a substitute from the waiting list.

This is not a guaranteed service, but in an emergency, this mechanism may represent a realistic option for effectively utilizing spare capacity and enabling students who would otherwise be unable to participate to take part in testing.

Call to teachers and students

We ask teachers to allow students to take exams throughout the entire exam period so that later dates can also be used.

At the same time, we would like to point out that the provision and adjustment of exam dates are not within the competence of the FEM Testing Center, but exclusively within the competence of the relevant teachers.
We therefore ask students to actively communicate the situation with their teachers and, in the event of insufficient capacity, to ask them to take appropriate measures to de-escalate the situation.

Acknowledgements

We would like to thank all students, teachers, and supervisors for their understanding, patience, and cooperation in dealing with this extraordinary situation.
